PRO Autism is a Berkshire-based charity dedicated to providing safe, stable, and forever homes for adults living with Autism and associated conditions.
For over 30 years, we have worked to address the shortage of specialist housing by creating high-quality supported living environments that promote stability, dignity, and independence.
About PRO Autism
PRO Autism (Parents, Relatives and Others for Autism) was founded in 1993 by a group of parents who wanted to improve the wellbeing of individuals living with Autism.
From the beginning, our focus has been on providing suitable long-term accommodation for adults with care and support needs. Creating safe, warm, and high-quality forever homes remains just as important to us today as it was when the charity was first established.
We believe that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home.
What We Do
PRO Autism acquires, develops, and maintains properties designed to support long-term supported living arrangements.
We work closely with our preferred and selected housing provider, Encompass Housing CIC, to help ensure individuals have access to appropriate accommodation and support within their communities.
In addition to supported living accommodation, PRO Autism also provides properties used for respite services, helping to offer short-term support and accommodation for autistic individuals where required.
Our Impact
Over the past three decades, PRO Autism has secured five specialist properties across Reading, helping to address the critical shortage of stable, long-term housing for adults with Autism.
These homes provide individuals with a secure foundation for independence, offering nurturing and familiar environments within supportive communities.
We remain committed to expanding our housing provision across Berkshire so we can continue making a positive difference to the lives of adults living with Autism.

Our Future Plans
Our vision extends beyond our current homes. We are actively seeking opportunities to expand our housing provision so more adults living with Autism across Berkshire can access suitable, specialist long-term accommodation that supports individual growth and development.
Demand for appropriate housing continues to increase, and PRO Autism remains focused on growing its property portfolio while strengthening governance and long-term sustainability.
